October 21, 2007 – 22 months

To celebrate my 22 month birthday, I pooped in the potty.  Mommy and Daddy were elated.  Much more powerful than peeing in the thing!  Hmm… I’ll have to use this to get stuff I want.

Mommy is still unofficially homeschooling me and Maya.  Easy, since books are still my favorite toy!  I know my ABCs.  I’ve got CAPITAL letters down (Mommy made flash cards) and most numbers (Mommy made cut outs).  I’m so happy I can have phone conversations with my family, now.

I’m learning about nature.  My favorite tree is Blue Spruce but we also have lots of Maples and Oaks around here.

I love to sing and dance in music class and then teach Daddy my new songs later.

July 2, 2007 – 18 months

Shoot!  It’s been 8 months since my parents helped me write in my journal.  Too much to say so just read our Family Update to catch up!

October 27, 2006 – 10 months

What a nice month I had.  Lots of visitors.

Uncle Billy.

Grandma and Grandpa.

Uncle Matt, Aunt Alex, Robbie and Katie – those guys are fun!

We went back to Disney and stayed with Amo Elias, Auntie Ronda, Rabie, Wael and Diana.  I love that house!

I’m Walking!... sometimes…

Standing is cool (I’ll do it for up to a minute).

Climbing up the slide is hard but fun.

But I REFUSE to “perform” on command!

Ever since I took 5 steps for Grandpa Lanoue on the web cam, Mom n Dad keep trying to get me to walk for people.  Don’t they understand that crawling is easier?!

I do, occasionally, indulge my parents,

waving “bye bye” to everyone,

playing “peek-a-boo”,

giving kisses

clapping,

<- or doing “SOO BIG!”

I have about 3.5 teeth with 2.5 on the way.  This has been a tough week for my gums!  See ya later.  I gotta go chew on something cold!

September 25, 2006 – 9 months

My First Steps

So, there I was, on my 9 month birthday trying to tell Daddy that I wanted to sit down.  As I stood there, he was just looking at me and counting: 8, 9, 10, 11…  Weird.

Since he wasn’t listening to me, I walked over to him (okay, 1½ steps) to get his attention.

Mommy and Daddy started clapping and yelling and hugging me.

I keep wondering if I’m truly related to these peculiar people.

Climbing (or sliding) down stairs is fun but jumping off stuff (couches, tables, chairs, beds) is better.  Usually I land steadily.  The picture lady thought I was going to dive off the table!  She made Daddy sit next to me and kept saying “She’s making me nervous”.  Heehee J

I get to feed myself sometimes and use the left over food as hair gel (bananas hold curls in place really well).  I get mean if you try to clean me up (see the picture ;).  Drinking from a cup is getting easier (I now swallow ~90% and wear 10% instead of the reverse :)

I may have figured out what a nose is (see video).

So, today, Mommy n’ Daddy have been married for 2 years.

Man!  That’s like 24 months… almost THREE lifetimes!

August 22, 2006 – 8 months

What a month!

I've been to picnics, weddings (Uncle Mike and Aunt Lynda in Philly), Kansas City to see Grandma and Grandpa, Orlando to meet more Hannas (Amo Elias and Daniel, Auntie Ronda and Theresa, Marie, Sarah, Rabie, Wael, and Diana), The Magic House...

Just when I could climb onto the coffee table, they moved the pillow I was using to get up there! So, now I'm learning to go down the stairs just to bug 'em :)

I stood without support for about 4 seconds! I grabbed a toy and stood next to the table before leaning back against it. I didn't even know I was doing it.

THE BIG NEWS: Guess who can say "mama". Guess who's happiest about it :)

July 22, 2006 – 7 months

What do I do for fun…?

I like long conversations (with anyone or anything), singing, hearty meals of applesauce, and walks in the garden.  And after a full morning, I sometimes take 3½ hr naps.  Mommy and Daddy LOVE those days.

Getting around on my own!

Mom n’ Dad let me crawl up the stairs.  My fastest time is 2 minutes.  I’m starting to figure out going down, too.

I also like to walk along furniture.

Standing without help is scary.  After 1 to 2 seconds I have to plop down on my bottom.

Walking my hands up the wall to stand up is useful, especially for our REALLY cool new toy.  An entertainment center covered with Plexiglas.  I spend minutes looking at the pictures (nice break for Mommy n Daddy).  Since they don’t stop me from going over there, I stand up and check everything out.

Did you know that when Daddy puts a blanket over something, it’s still there?!  All I have to do is lift the blanket.  And to get a ball out of a cup you just have to reach IN!  Why didn’t I think of that before?  They can’t hide anything from me now!

June 30, 2006 – 6¼ months

I had a great visit to Cleveland.

I like to pull up on EVERYTHING.  Sometimes the thing falls over and I go with it.  But, I’m learning to fall gracefully.  Yesterday, I dropped a toy while holding onto the couch.  I leaned down and grabbed the toy while holding on with the other hand.  I even pushed myself OVER Daddy when he was laying on his side (‘course I landed on my face).

Mostly, I like to pull up on parents.  I use hair to help me (and they say “OUCH!”).

I’m figuring out how to “cruise” on furniture.  I can move about 3 feet in 5 minutes.  But then Daddy moves the toy I was after back to the other side.  JEEZ!

June 22, 2006 – “Walking” at 6 months (+ 1 day)

Now that I can crawl, I can get to stuff.  This bothers Mommy and Daddy.

I like to pull myself to a stand (look right), I just need a sturdy hand hold.

I figured I’d try walking (with help) to see what the fuss is about.

Daddy taped it for some reason (click here for video clip).

May 6 to June 11, 2006 – 4½ - 5½ months

Daddy’s lazy!!  I finally convinced him to transcribe my Blog for me.  So much has happened.

TRAVEL:

Cleveland to see Tete, Giddo, Uncle Maz and EVERYBODY else.

Great Grandma Rose’s Farm for the Rose Family Bonfire.  I got to play next to my cousins Hannah, Raelyn, Ella, and Brady.  Heck, watching them was more fun than anything else.

DOING STUFF:

Sitting: I don’t fall anymore and I can reach out for whatever I want.  Now that I can get up to sitting by myself, I can stretch out my arms to Mommy when I see her in the morning.

Crawling: Frustrating!  I’m just now going forward more than backward but it takes awhile.  Mostly, I like to rock and lunge at things.

Pulling up and standing: I was sitting and playing with a tassel hanging off the couch.  I got hold with two hands and pulled.  As I stood up, Daddy yelled “AHH” and jumped for me (lucky ‘cause I was about to fall).  If they stand me in front of something, I hold on for awhile before falling.

Talking: Mostly babababadadabadabaaaaaah and blrrrthtt! (daddy gets wet J)  I got out ammmama once.

Face Painting: I take my sweet time eating off a spoon.  I like green beans best so far.

May 4-5, 2006 – 4½ months

I’m learning how to sit!  I get tired of it after 3 to 5 minutes and ask to be picked up.  I have a problem, though.  If I reach for a toy I fall over L.

Click here to see how big I am!

April 28-May 3, 2006 – 4½ months

I figured out what a bottle is.  Now that I can hold it myself, I won’t need Daddy for much of anything.  When I get bored, I can put my toes in my mouth.  When I wake up, I can activate my Glow Worm.  When I’m happy, I can laugh.  When I soil myself… well, I guess I still need him.

April 22-27, 2006 – 4 months n’ counting

We’re “face-painting”!  This means we take a spoon (curvy thing), put goop on it, and get it all over the place.  I like it except when they put goop in my mouth… ugh.

Ain’t life grand?

April 21, 2006 – I’m 4 months old!!

Tete came to visit and we’re having so much fun.  She takes me outside and shows me the flowers and trees.  She’s teaching me Arabic, singing to me, and cleaning me up when I explode out of my diaper (she’s versatile).

April 19, 2006 – almost 4 months old

Okay, here’s my plan.  I’ll roll over so much that they won’t think it’s a big deal anymore.  What’s “Baby-proofing”?  They keep saying they need to do it now that I’m “mobile”.

April 18, 2006 - 3¾ months old

I like it when Daddy and Mommy help me make funny noises.

The video is pretty cool.

I knew they’d scream louder!  I shouldn’t have done it but I rolled back to front a few times today.  First Mommy screamed.  Then Daddy came and wanted me to do it again.  Geez, these people are needy.

April 16, 2006 – 3¾ months old

At 3 months old, I rolled over from front to back.  I only go half-way from back to front.  I mean, Mom n Dad scream when I roll the other way so I don’t want to go too fast and freak them out.

I’ve been doing squats for awhile now.  Daddy and I do sets of 50 sometimes.  He’s very encouraging.  Anybody know what “FEEL THE BURN” means?

I love to taste all my toys, and anything else I can get my hands on.  I discovered my toes last week, but can’t quite get them in my mouth yet.

I started screaming for fun a few weeks ago.  Mom n Dad think it’s cute.

ßYesterday, I grabbed Daddy’s thumbs and he lifted me up off the ground.  He n’ Mommy thought it was a big deal that I held on by myself.  What did they think  I’d do… let go?!!

I LOVE swimming!  Mostly, I get a kick out of the other kids at the pool.  My pink bathing suit is great.

I’m starting to sit up by myself (30 seconds today!).  Mommy was impressed.  Again, did she think I’d fall over?!  Actually, I do a nice face-plant dive from that position.  I usually just play it off like I wanted some tummy time anyway.

It’s fun standing in my Exer-saucer (look at April 21).  I like figuring out how the toys work.

I sing myself to sleep at night and before naps, and I call out to Mommy and Daddy in the morning.  As long as they respond within 10 minutes, I greet them with a big smile. J
